The Authority does not collect any personal data about you on this website, apart from information which you volunteer (for example by contacting us, buying or topping-up a Leap Card online or subscribing to the newsletters through this website).
By signing up for an online account when purchasing a Leap Card/travel credit and/or by registering your Leap Card account, you agree to and acknowledge that the Authority may use the personal data provided in line with the purpose for which it is provided, including the following purposes:

  • is necessary to issue the Leap Card;
  • is necessary for the purposes of processing your transaction and/or managing your Leap Card account;
  • is necessary for the performance of the Leap Card Terms and Conditions;
  • is necessary to log card usage data;
  • is necessary to provide customer support; and
  • 6.the provision of Authority and Leap Card Service Provider information and information relating thereto.
  • 7.Leap Card customers will also have the option to subscribe to newsletters, which may include offers from Service Providers and trusted third parties.

If you choose not to sign up for an online account when purchasing or topping-up a Leap Card or do not opt-in to subscribe to the newsletter then the Authority will use the personal data you provide solely for the purposes of processing your transaction and/or managing your Leap Card account.

The information you provide to the Authority may occasionally be passed to third parties located outside the European Economic Area solely for the purposes of the operation of the integrated ticketing scheme (and not for direct marketing purposes). The Authority will always take steps to ensure adequate contractual and technical safeguards are in place to protect personal data and that such third parties only use personal data in accordance with the Authority’s instructions, this privacy statement and all applicable laws.

At no time will information provided by you be disclosed to any third parties (other than as set out in the Leap Card Terms and Conditions) unless in accordance with the law. Your personal data may be made anonymous and used for statistical purposes.

Your Rights Regarding Data Supplied Via This Website

Your request will be dealt with within forty days.

    You also have a right to have inaccurate information corrected. If you discover that there is inaccurate personal information on your online account you can amend it by signing in and making the appropriate edits. If you discover that this office holds other inaccurate information about you, you have a right to instruct the Authority to correct that information. Such an instruction must be in writing or via e-mail. Your request will be dealt with within forty days.

    The Authority will not hold your personal data for longer than necessary. In certain circumstances you may also request that data which you have supplied via the website be deleted. To exercise this right you would generally be expected to identify some contravention of data protection law in the manner in which this office processes the data concerned.
